AGU Remote Innovative Cubesat Alert system-2 (ARICA-2) is a 2U CubeSat mission. One of the main goal (science mission goal) of ARICA-2 is to demonstrate the real-time alert sysmte of transient astronomical sources, such as gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) using commercial satellite network services. Another main goal (amateur mission goal) is to to provide a "store and forward" capability for communication among amateurs. The alert and housekeeping data are also broadcast through the amateur CW transmitter.

Science mission

  • Demonstration of the real-time alert system of transients using Iridium and Globalstar satellite network.
  • Demonstration of a fast command uplink using Iridium satellite network.
  • (Extra success) Collect the images of aurora by the Spresense's camera utilizing machine learing capability of Spresense.

Amateur mission

  • A "store-and-forward" communication capability.
  • The alert and housekeeping data distribution through the amateur CW transmitter.
